Yet, the formal job market only has room for a fraction of them. With 60% of our population under the age of 25 (according to the UN), we are home to the world’s most ambitious generation and yet, for too long, that ambition has been met with a locked door.
At ChezaSTEMed, we see these statistics as a call to action. We recognize a widening skills gap that threatens to leave millions behind, and we’ve decided to build the bridge.
The Problem: A Tale of Two Gaps
There are two major hurdles standing between African youth and the global digital economy.
- The Education-Industry Gap: Our traditional education systems are often years behind the actual needs of the tech industry. Young people are willing to build, but they aren’t being handed the right tools.
- The Entrepreneurship Gap: Africa is a continent with big ideas, but minimal technical execution knowledge. We lack a pipeline of skilled professionals who can bring our ideas to life.
The ChezaSTEMed Refusal to Accept
We felt these gaps. We saw the brilliance in our students and the frustration in our professionals. And we refused to accept it.
ChezaSTEMed was founded with a singular, unapologetic mission: To close the distance between where Africa is today and where the digital economy needs us to be tomorrow.
We don’t just teach; we transform. Through practical, hands-on training and industry-aligned programs, we are cultivating a new guard of African developers, data scientists, and digital marketers. We aren’t just giving them a syllabus but a career they can bank on.
